Port Louis's Creative Heartbeat

Located in the historic Caudan Waterfront complex overlooking Port Louis harbour, the Caudan Arts Centre is the cultural anchor of the Mauritian capital. Five gallery spaces host a rotating programme of contemporary Mauritian art, photography, sculpture, and performance — from established island names to the next generation of Indian Ocean creatives.

The centre's permanent collection documents 350 years of Mauritian visual culture, from colonial-era plantation scenes to the vibrant contemporary movement that emerged post-independence. Special exhibitions draw international artists, curators, and collectors to Port Louis throughout the year.
